Promote Sustainable Products
I started SuperBee Wax Wraps back in 2016, mainly because living in Northern Thailand, I saw firsthand how bad the single-use plastic problem was, and I wanted to create a sustainable solution. We're a Certified B Corp, which means we focus on making a positive impact, not just environmentally but socially too. Our products help people cut down on plastic at home, and we make sure our team has fair working conditions. We also run micro-financing projects in the community to help out where we can.
Our stuff is all organic, handmade with care, and packed with good vibes. It's about more than just a product—it's something that makes people feel good and empowered to make a difference. Most of our team comes from nearby villages, and many of them have stuck with us since the early days. Some of the women have gone through leadership training and have even moved into management roles.
At the same time, we're all about empowering women, creating jobs in rural areas, and making sure we follow Thailand's labor laws. We pay about 20% more than the living wage recommended by the Fair Trade Association, so people are getting what they deserve. We've built a loving, ethical, and safe environment in our workshop and office. Plus, we're big on encouraging our employees to live greener lives by giving them the tools and knowledge to reduce their plastic use. We also partner with people who share our vision—people who care about the future of our planet and aren't afraid to do business in a way that's driven by their values instead of following the same old destructive norms.
Utilize Agroforestry In Kenya
One example of a conservation project that improved community livelihoods is agroforestry in Kenya's Mau Forest. This initiative, aimed at restoring degraded land through tree planting, also encouraged local farmers to integrate trees with crops and livestock.
